Welcome! Lovely to meet you. My name is Corri Lynne.

I am an artist, a writer, and a ceaseless student on my journey through life. I grew up in a humble home in a tiny town in rural Pennsylvania. When I was not outside running wild through the woods, you could find me with my head buried in a book or painting or drawing.

I studied psychology and art at Ohio University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I battled with addiction in my early twenties due to PTSD and unresolved childhood trauma. Unlike so many others, I was fortunate enough to receive the care and intense therapy I needed to heal and recover from my addiction. These experiences changed my career trajectory and goals. I decided I wanted a career where I could be expressive in what I wore and how I looked while also allowing me to be creative and play with shapes and colors. So, I delved into the world of hair and fashion. I graduated from Tony and Guy Hair Academy and have had a thriving career behind the chair as a stylist for thirteen years, but something was missing.

Although I still wrote diligently, mostly poetry, I had given up drawing years ago. It seems it got tangled up with the shame, rage, and other unpleasant emotions that I had entombed in the murky recesses of my subconscious. Luckily for me, I had a very talented therapist who gave me an assignment to draw my shame. "I will try," I told her, "But don't expect much because I can't draw anymore; it's gone, I lost it." I went home, got my dusty art supplies from the attic, and set about my task. To my utter surprise, that tomb sprung open and poured onto the page.

From that day forward, I drew every day. I was in love again. I decided to merge my love of writing and drawing and try my hand at creating children's picture books. I took every online course and workshop and read every book on writing and illustrating picture books I could get my hands on. Writing a children's picture book is much more complicated than it seems. Thus, my debut picture book, "Peanut's Bedtime Adventures," was born.

Today, I work at my home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where I continue to write and illustrate more children's stories. I have found my life's passion in storytelling. My biggest inspirations are psychology, mythology, folklore, and fairytales. In my spare time, I still read ferociously, commune with nature, and travel and live with my amazing husband and our little dog, the real-life Peanut.
